On Sunday afternoon, I was lucky enough to be invited to go see TÊTE-Á-TÊTE – a show presented by Colour Cosmetica, for their graduate students. Two students, Thuy Do, and Georgina Tippett present their gorgeous collections, inspired by two of the fashionable era’s of history. The show also presented Certificate II in Image Management students, who were presenting their own interpretations of the ultimate wardrobe staple: the little black dress. The showcase was presented by Filip Odzak of Fashion Squared, and the midshow entertainment included talented local violinist, Rosy Timms.

I make an effort to go see every graduate showcase I can. Some of the best fashion shows I have ever attended have been from young kids, straight out of study. They aren’t jaded by the industry, they aren’t following anyone’s instruction but their own, and they are inspired by nothing by the world that surrounds them. It’s so fascinating to see the youth of the fashion and design industry start out. You never know – you could begging for an invitation to one of these girls Paris Fashion Week shows one day…

Here’s some snaps for you all of the afternoon. Champagne, canapés, and beautiful outfits.
